About the Artist

Neil Hitchman is a Cornwall‑based artist whose work blends traditional painting with digital abstraction. His practice explores the tension between structure and spontaneity, drawing inspiration from the geometry, colour, and emotional rhythms of the Cornish landscape. Each piece is a dialogue between intuition and precision, where layered forms create a sense of movement, depth, and quiet intensity.
Artistic Approach
My process is rooted in experimentation. I begin with traditional mark‑making, sketches, or painted textures, then translate these into digital compositions. This hybrid workflow allows me to explore structure, colour, and form in ways that feel both contemporary and timeless. I’m drawn to the interplay between chaos and order — the moment where a composition clicks into place.
Cornwall Influence
Cornwall’s coastline, weather, and shifting light are constant influences in my work. The geometry of harbours, the rhythm of tides, and the rawness of the landscape inform my palette and compositions. My work is not literal — it’s an emotional translation of place.
